Jewelry Care + Repair
HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY JEWELRY?
At Hannah May we take pride in using high quality materials that provide reliable long time wear for our jewelry. Every piece is made with love and will maintain its shine and integrity with proper care and wear. To keep your jewelry looking its best, gently wipe with a damp cloth and/or polishing cloth before storing it in your provided keepsake pouch. Our lovely microsuede pouch provides a sustainable safe haven for your jewelry where it is sheltered from daily exposure to elements, which can cause tarnishing and/or damage. Make sure jewelry is completely dry before storage.
CAN I SHOWER AND SWIM IN MY JEWELRY?
Hannah May jewelry offers worry-free wear with gold filled, 14k solid gold and sterling silver jewelry. Our water-resistant materials and genuine gemstones are not affected by water. Please note that water high in chlorine, sulfur or salt should be avoided. We do not recommend showering or swimming in our silk knotted pieces. Stretchy rings can slip off while swimming. Please reach out with questions.
CAN I SLEEP IN MY JEWELRY?
We do not recommend sleeping in our gemstone jewelry as it will cause fast wear and tear and can get tangled with other jewelry or hair. Simple gold rings, chains and bracelets can be slept in.
HOW DO I CARE FOR MY SILK KNOTTED NECKLACE?
Silk-knotted gemstone necklaces are meticulously crafted with a high level of expertise and attention. Each gem is separated with an individual knot which protects the stones from rubbing against each other. This process takes a considerable amount of time and patience but provides for a flexible, kink-free drape on the body. Each stone sparkles on its own. A silk knotted necklace is truly something special to cherish!
It is strongly advised to not get this piece wet. This type of jewelry should be the last thing put on before heading out and the first thing taken off when home. To keep your jewelry looking its best, gently wipe with a damp cloth before storing it in your provided keepsake pouch. Our lovely microsuede pouch provides a sustainable safe haven for your jewelry where it is sheltered from daily exposure to elements, which can cause tarnishing and/or damage. Make sure jewelry is completely dry before storage.
IS OUR JEWELRY HYPOALLERGENIC?
Yes, our jewelry is hypoallergenic. Our 14k gold is solid gold and our gold filled jewelry is the next best thing. Gold filled findings have a thick, chemically bonded layer of 14k gold on top of jewelers brass. There is no nickle used. Sterling silver is solid sterling. Please confirm that you have no 14k gold or sterling silver allergies before wearing our jewelry as we are not responsible for any allergic reactions.
WHERE IS THE JEWELRY MADE?
